Turning off Auto-login in Suse 10.3

If you don’t change the default on the install, opensuse elects to auto-login.  This creates a security concern if your machine is directly accessible to others.  After playing around with different options I finally figured it out.

  1. Run Yast (or in this case Yast2).
  2. You will be prompted to enter the root password. Enter the password.
  3. Go to Security and User.
  4. Click on the User Management.
  5. Click on Expert Option and select Login Settings.
  6. Uncheck the auto login and press OK.
  7. Press Finish.

This should make auto-login go away.
